Zoology Camping - McGrath Beach |
|
The Zoology club spent the last weekend of May relaxing in the cool weather of one of Ventura County's premier birding areas: McGrath State Beach.
Over 245 species of birds call this stretch of
Pacific Coast home. Many of these birds are protected and considered
endangered because of pollution, habitat loss, and human
overpopulation. Besides spending time searching and locating nests of
endangered sea birds, the students spent time at Leo Carrillo State
Beach exploring caves, rock climbing, and searching for and identifying
the dozens of tidal zone animals.
