  • Shelbie Copas - Mr. Bremer’s Animation and Filmmaking class
  • Cody Garcia - Mrs. Brightbill’s ASL II class
  • Alexander Gore - Mr. Escalante’s Personal Fitness class
  • Sam Hansen - Mr. Escalante’s Sports Medicine/Athletic trainer class
  • Kayla Koach - Mrs. Black’s Hospitality/Food Service class
  • Jamil Sabbagh - Mr. Bremer’s Advanced Filmmaking and Animation class
  • Danielle Sella - Mrs. Brightbill’s ASL I class
  • Steven Stevenson - Mr. Tannen’s Digital Photography class
  • Alicia Teachout - Mr. Morgan’s Digital Video Media Class

All recipients had the opportunity of applying for additional scholarships. The application process included writing an essay on the subject of ‘What My ROP Class Means To Me.”

Based on these essays, Shelbie Copas received a $100 scholarship from DeVry Institute, Alexander Gore received a $300 sholarship from Visiting Nurses Assn., Kayla Koach received a $200 scholarship from the SAROP Board and a $100 scholarship from the Inland Empire Credit Union, and Alicia Teachout received a $100 scholarship from Dan Harden.

Congratulations to all award winners and congratulations as well to the teachers who guided and encouraged them.

Parents:
If your child is like most teenagers, they spend a lot of time on a cell phone or instant messenger chatting with friends and uploading photos, videos, and music to websites. Teens’ lives exist in a variety of places such as school hallways, part-time jobs, and friends’ houses. Now many teens also have lives on the Internet. And while most of these experiences are perfectly harmless, bullying has followed teens online. Online bullying, which is called cyberbullying, happens when teens use the Internet, cell phones, or other devices to send or post text or images intended to hurt or embarrass another person. Cyberbullying is a problem that affects many American teens. Whether your teen has been a victim of cyberbullying, they know someone who has been cyberbullied, or have even cyberbullied themselves, there are steps you can take to stop cyberbullying and keep your child’s online experience cyber-safe.
