New and Upcoming Community Service Opportunities

AP Testing Setup: We need volunteers to help setup for AP Testing at New Song Church across the street. Dates are May 1, 2017 and May 8, 2017 from 6:20-7:20 am. Please see Mr. Nance to sign up.

The San Dimas Farmer’s Market needs volunteers! Beginning Wednesday, April 5th, you can earn up to 6 hours, every Wednesday through August! Shifts vary and are flexible. For more information, contact Bill (909) 915-5962


Holy Name of Mary Church is looking for volunteers for their Family Festival April 27-30th. They need help with setup (beginning after school on Thursday 4/27) and cleanup (daily). The Festival itself is April 28-30th and they will need help manning the booths. The 41st Annual San Dimas Festival of Arts is looking for volunteers on April 28-30 from 1:00pm - 4:00 pm (Friday), and 9:00am - 4:00pm (Sat & Sun). Friday and Saturday will be a Plein Air event and volunteers are needed as docents to answer questions, make sure the artists have what they need, and help provide patrons with sales slips to take to the cashier for purchasing the art.

 Volunteers needed for the following events for SDHS PTSA:
Car Show and E-Waste Fundraiser-Saturday, May 6 from 7 AM - 3 PM in student parking lot. Jobs: concession stand, registration, help unload e-waste from cars and put in boxes. Lunch included if you work 3 or more hours. Check-in with Devon Goldsworthy. Email volunteer coordinator at ptsasdhs01@gmail.com if you are interested in working event.

Shepherd’s Pantry in Glendora is looking for Volunteers to help sort canned food for their “Stamp out Hunger” event. The event is May 13, 2017 and volunteers are needed from 1:00pm - 6:00pm. Please visit their website HERE for details.
The American Brain Tumor Association is in need of volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include assisting with check-in, registration, refreshments, course marshaling and a host of other things. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our BT5K Volunteer Application to confirm your spot and receive additional volunteer information.

Allen Avenue Elementary is looking for a few responsible students to work their book fair on May 25th. They would like 2 or 3 students from 5:00 – 8:00pm. One student would run a register and 2 would be for crowd control and organizing. If you are interested, please contact Jackie Rheingans at j.rheingans@bonita.k12.ca.us.
Summer Camp Volunteers Needed: If you are 16 years or older, enjoy working with children ages 7-12 years old and would like to give back to the local community, then come and volunteer at Tri-City Mental Health’s annual Summer Camp. The summer camps starts June 19th and ends July 14th, and it runs Monday through Friday from 11am-2pm. The camp is very flexible and will work around your schedule and availability. Duties as a summer camp volunteer include: 
• Assisting children in daily socialization activities such as games and arts ‘n crafts
• Supporting summer camp team (help with lunch, interact with children in weekly recreational activities) 
• Have fun and be a positive mentor for the summer campers 
If you are interested in volunteering at the Summer Camp, please attend our Volunteer Orientation Friday, April 7th at 4pm. You’ll learn more about the summer camp and what to expect as a volunteer, and will receive necessary paperwork to become a volunteer (application, background packet. The orientation (and summer camp) is located at Tri-City’s Wellness Center (1403 N. Garey Ave, Pomona, Ca 91767).).

Priceless Pet Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing adoptable dogs and cats. Priceless Pets is leading the no-kill movement by energizing the public and maintaining comprehensive, innovative, life-saving programs designed to save the animals most likely to be euthanized in shelters. Do you need volunteer hours? Chloie’s Cottage wants to help both you as students, and the elderly citizens of San Dimas as well. Chloie’s Cottage is a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly with two locations in San Dimas. They are regular homes where seniors live.
