Financial Aid Experts will be available to help parents/students fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) or the CA Dream Act Application. This event is free (including parking) but you must register beforehand at

You can schedule an appointment to meet with your student’s teacher if they have a grade of C- or below.  Appointments are available in the afternoon and evening.

SDHS PTSA raises money throughout the school year for student scholarships, teacher & department grants, and a school gift. Community support through our membership drive and car show benefit our fundraising efforts. Go to for more information.

Attention Seniors, Cap and Gown & Announcement Orders: Seniors, it’s time to order your Graduation Cap and Gown.   Jostens will be on campus Wednesday, November 6th and Thursday, November 7th at lunch taking Graduation Cap and Gown and Announcement orders.  Your will receive a packet from Jostens soon. These packets will be distributed by your English teachers in the next few weeks. Please make a note of the Jostens order dates, and make sure to stay on campus and order your items.

Come Support SD Girls Soccer!  Eat at The Bowl Friday in LaVerne anytime on October 25 & 30th and bring in the flyer and The Bowl will give them a percentage back from the sales! 
Ladies do you know wrestling can help you? One of the fastest growing sports leading to college scholarships is women's wrestling.  Are you a mixed martial artist? MMA's in the UFC that are dominant happen to be wrestlers. Wrestling for females is growing rapidly, so why not give it a try? The Census is hiring! A recruiting presentation will be held October 21 from 4-6pm @ San Dimas Library. Students must be at least 18 years of age to apply. See flyers for more info! 
Mt. SAC and Citrus College visit SDHS to assist Seniors throughout the application process. Students who complete all workshops are granted with priority registration and benefits through Mt. Sac's Promise+Plus Program or Citrus College's Promise Program. Students must attend all workshops for these benefits. They will take place in the Media Center during 5th & lunch. Sign up in the Career Center to attend!

Seniors Grad Nite 2020 is confirmed!  Grad Nite will take place on June 3rd (the day after graduation) at the Happiest Place on Earth “Disneyland”.  Seniors will receive a Hopper pass to visit both Disneyland, and California Adventure as well as participation in the famous Disney Grad Nite festivities.  The cost to attend is $225. This cost covers ticket, and transportation and a few fun surprises. Seniors can reserve their spot on Friday, October 25th from 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm with the Grad Nite committee in front of campus.  A $125 deposit is required to reserve your spot.  Space is limited so you will want to reserve your spot on October 25th to guarantee participation.  Seniors that reserved a spot during registration can pay additional money towards your ticket on October 25th as well.  Final payment for the fun event will take place on January 31st, 2020 or February 28th, 2020.  Grad Nite payments are non-refundable, and non-transferable.  If you have any questions see Mrs. Lowary in the front office.
UC/CSU Application Workshop & Financial Aid Night will be Wednesday, October 23 from 6:30-8:30pm in the Media Center. University representatives will be here to give students and parents a detailed overview of UC and CSU applications along with a financial aid overview. 
College & Career Readiness Summit: A FREE event that offers on the spot scholarships, assistance with college applications and personal insight questions, workshops for college and career exploration, and more! Register at:
Edison Scholars: Open to high school seniors that show financial need, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, live in So Cal Edison's service area, and plan to attend a four-year college or university and pursue studies in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM)
Deadline: Dec. 16
Amount: $40,000 in scholarships to 30 high school seniors

Heisman High School Scholarship- Open to high school seniors that have a cumulative high school GPA of a B (3.0) or better, participate in at least one sport, and are leaders in school and the community. Deadline: October 29, 2019 @ 3 pm

The Latino College Expo is a FREE event that has resources for students of all grade levels.

There is still time to enroll on Mr. Black’s Summer 2020 tour of Croatia, Slovenia and Italy! Most of the filming locations for “King’s Landing” are located in Croatia! We will see natural beauty in Pleet-vichi National Park, which looks more like Hawaii than Europe, and we will visit many breathtaking coastal cities and historic sites. Attention all students:  We are stepping up things here at SDHS.    We want you to get the 5-star student app and play along with us!  You will be earning points all year long by going to certain events on and off campus.  At the end of each quarter you will be rewarded and we will see who the final leaders are at the end of the year.  Download the student app on your phone today!  
Shull Elementary Fall Festival Friday, October 25th. The shifts are available in 2 hour increments.  Shift set-ups start at 3:30pm and the last shift ends at 8:30pm. Please bring your volunteer sheet for the staff to sign off on.

Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship: A multi year program that runs concurrently with a student's normal college or university course of study with the purpose to educate and train highly qualified young men and women for careers as commissioned officers in the United States Marine Corps.
