Animation College Credits & Training

SDHS Animation trains students in storylines, storyboarding & project management.

"We use industry standard equipment and programs including Maya and Cinema 4d," Principal Michael Kelly said. "These are the same programs used for TV shows like the Simpsons and to create movie animated special effects."

Long time SDHS teacher Rick Bremer, who is now a Teacher on Special Assignment with the district, developed the program. Under his leadership, the program won the Golden Bell Award from the California School Boards Association.

In addition to earning college credit through Mt. San Antonio College, Animation students have won first prize and money awards from the California State Fair every year since 2004, and hundreds of awards at the Los Angeles County Fair since 2003.

The new Animations teacher, Jordan Murray, joins the SDHS staff to continue the program. "I'm honored to be a part of the team," Murray said. "While many schools are cutting their art programs, San Dimas is enhancing and expanding theirs. Rick Bremer is a loss to the school, but I hope to fill that gap and add a few of my own tricks to what we teach students."

Murray developed his illustration and marketing skills as a designer with Infinite Design Factory and as a Regional Marketing Manager with Red Robin Restaurants.
